The Tuning Fork are excited to announce Park Rd’s EP, ‘Stupid Stories’ Release Show coming to The Tuning Fork Stage June 11 2022.

Park Rd are a 5-piece indie-pop band from West Auckland in New Zealand. Formed while studying together in 2018, Park RD have since released their debut EP, sold out multiple shows around the country, and played The Garden Stage at Rhythm and Vines as well as a headline slot at Sound Splash.

In 2019 Park RD released Surfer Boy Paradise and in 2020 they released their highly anticipated first body of work - their EP 'Sandcastles'. The band has since received over 3 million streams on Spotify. Their new EP 'Stupid Stories' is set to release on June 10th. An incredibly exciting body of work that has seen singles ‘I Got You', 'Control' and 'Coastline’ all reach the NZ hot singles chart, as high as number 4.

Lead guitarist Angus Hampton-Carr says that Park Rd is about being together, as a band and with the community around them. “We put a lot of love into our songs, and we have a lot of fun writing them as a band, but the highlight for me is the being able to play shows and feel everyone there coming together and having a blast with something we created.”

Joining them will be George Barney Roberts & Brody Leigh! Following a craving of emotional expression, 19 year old George has been writing and constantly refining his sound culminating in his upcoming EP ‘Strange’. With influences rooted in 90s / early 2000s pop rock and emo, ‘Strange’ has a unique style with driving instrumentals, big hooks contrasted by intimate lyricism. George's personality, a sensitive, endearing soul shows throughout his music resulting in sweet and emotionally all-encompassing songs.

Writing songs from the age of 7, Brody Leigh grew up feeling like a wallflower and always turned to music and lyrics to find her voice. Starting out by busking with her brother Ben, the two entered Smokefree Rockquest multiple times during school before winning in 2020, where “Ben & Brody” was formed. Her hotly anticipated debut single “Sad Club” produced by Joel Jones and co-written with Mckenzie Comer (MCK) released on Feb 4th, catching the attention of the wider music industry and landing spins on ZM and The Edge.

Don’t miss the opportunity to get an exclusive first-hand experience of Park Rd’s ‘Stupid Stories’ EP live at The Tuning Fork.
