IVY, Pearly*, Becca Caffyn - VELVET "re-launch" night 1
VELVET x DropKicks present: IVY, Pearly*, Becca Caffyn, for VELVET's "re-launch" night 1.
An absolute all-star lineup of Dunedin's finest emerging talent...
Ōtepoti based art-rock quintet, IVY, have quickly cemented themselves as one of Dunedin’s most exciting acts of the current millennium; pillar of mystical and transcendent force, coupled with the exuberant weight of youthful eagerness. With music that nestles within the realm of dark and brooding tones, and immense, layered chorus, IVY are no stranger to composite time signatures and experimental instrumentation.
Pearly* come from the noisey side of Ōtepoti/Aotearoa’s alternative rock scene. Pearly’s tunes are big, sometimes spacious, but always considered, with earnest and energetic live shows. Formed in late 2023 by Dale Kerrigan band mates and scene vets Joel Field, and Josh Nicholls, joined by friends Phaedra Love and Ryan Hill.
Becca Caffyn is an absolutely stellar artist, gifted with a mesmerising voice, and a knack for storytelling that makes the listener feel as if they are living within the lyrics. Backed by her full band for this show, Becca is an exciting artist and one of our favourite up-and-comers within NZ.
