The Tuning Fork announces Thursdays I’m In Love, a new monthly band night that will highlight up and coming, newly established or household names from Aotearoa. Each month we’ll host three bands for you to discover and fall in love with. It’s time we take back Thursday, start your weekend at The Tuning Fork!

Thursdays I’m In Love kicks off with WHO SHOT SCOTT, INDYAH and LEVYNE.

Pick out one of your favourite craft beers, enjoy our Thursdays' drinks specials, grab a burrito and support the local up and coming artists performing. Every month you’ll be given the opportunity to see some of the most exciting names of the next few years.

Thursdays I’m In Love will sit alongside the comedy series Fork ‘N Funny as The Tuning Fork’s monthly offerings. As if three excellent local acts aren’t enough, each month will feature a unique poster by a Kiwi graphic designer or artist.

May's poster is designed by LUCY MORRIS.

19 year old Nelson born RnB/pop artist INDYAH has had an astounding start to the year starting her year off playing Rhythm and Vines, Baydreams. Indyah started writing music when she was 8 years old, growing up with her highly successful cousins “Broods” Indyah has always been surrounded by insanely well written music. Her latest single is currently charting at number 3 on the official NZ music charts, her chart topping song ‘Turning Blue’ along with her last single “WYS” are both getting copious amounts of radio play daily on the Edge, ZM, Ash London and more.

Auckland-based artist Lévyne is an engaging new addition to the pop-scape. The classical pianist-turned- producer has been growing a solid base to stand upon since diving into the world of indie pop in 2018. Her sound is a mixture between spacious harmonies and forceful, driving beats, giving her songs a solid backbone that allows them to stand out from the rest. Well-known convention mixed with a hint of chaos leaves Lévyne’s songs with their own distinct flavour, and her clear, soft vocals are the cherry on top.

A boy fled Iraq to arrive in New Zealand when he was 2 years old. He found comfort in a friend at age 8 and they were joined at the hip, their shared love for hip-hop resulted in an internationally performing duo with big plans for their future. In 2019 however, his partner converted religion, abruptly announced he will no longer make music, moved overseas and left his closest friend here with no goodbye. After some gruelling months experimental hip-hop artist WHO SHOT SCOTT was born from the ashes of that big dream.

No wonder the underlying theme of the debut offering MERCY is betrayal and ego, and the contrast between the two. The self produced EP features an eclectic selection of sonic choices and is heavy on synths and tribal drums - a true representation of WHO SHOT SCOTT's innermost artistic expression. Creatively concise, and inspired by real life trauma and events, MERCY is a bold statement, not only telling the artists deepest and darkest secrets, but doing it with style.
