Performing the music of Steely Dan

Steely DNA perform songs from the nine album catalogue of American band Steely Dan, a unique fusion of rock, jazz, blues, R&B, and Latin. Come and hear all the best known and some lesser known hits from the legendary songwriting partnership of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker.

Many folk will have some of their best known albums in their vinyl collections, classics like Can’t Buy a Thrill, Countdown to Ecstasy, Gaucho, The Royal Scam and Aja.

Starting out in 2018, the nine members of Steely DNA spent 18 months in closed rehearsals at Avalon Television Studios to faithfully and accurately develop the fine music of Steely Dan, yet still whilst retaining their own feel.

As the real Steely Dan are unlikely to perform in New Zealand any time soon, this will be a night not to be missed, not only for the enthusiastic musician, but also for sophisticated audiophiles of this legendary music
