New Jazz from the Habour City

The Devil’s Gate Unit is a creative jazz septet featuring a stellar lineup of some of Wellington's most exciting musicians including members of the Phoenix Foundation, Orchestra of Spheres, Six Volts, Little Blast Orchestra and Louis Baker’s band. The Devil’s Gate Unit plays all original compositions, with an emphasis on exploring sophisticated yet unorthodox forms. The group boasts a huge timbral palette, from Indonesian gamelan to synthesizers. The group has been formed specifically for the post-lockdown live gig environment.
