City Jazz is an 8-piece band that has been playing Dixieland, swing and other jazz styles in the capital for over 20 years. Co-founded by Mike Bain, its core repertoire comprises music through to the 1940s plus jump blues and other standards. The band has a classic Dixieland lineup of sax+clarinet (Mike Bain), sax+vocals (Arthur Grimes) trumpet (Martin Wall), trombone (Greg Rogan), piano (Ross Badger), guitar (Kevin Abbott), bass (Mike Hoy) and drums (Tony Rodgers). The programme will feature an entertaining range of Dixieland, swing, jump blues and numbers from the great American songbook.
