Aurora has released an electrifying new single ‘Forgotten Love’
Norwegian musician AURORA has revealed her brand new single ‘Forgotten Love’, ahead of the release of a larger body of work due later this year. ‘Forgotten Love’ is an ode to lost love, and is a swirling, electrifying masterpiece that includes lyrics in both English and her native Norwegian.
Commenting on the track, AURORA says, ‘Forgotten Love’ is a song I wrote about when we chose to fall in love with someone, a partner or even just the love you have for a friend, we know the risk it takes and how much it would hurt to lose this person, who we love so much.
But then once you do lose them, it’s about the feeling of letting go of that love, to not carry around the ghost of someone. And how freeing that can be.”
‘Forgotten Love’ followers her single ‘Queendom’, which was the first piece of music we had been blessed with since Aurora released her debut album back in 2016, All My Demons Greeting Me As Friends. Her unique brand of indie pop has seen her become one of the most streamed alternative artists in the world, with over 500 million plays.
The single also follows a hectic summer on the road for the artist, which included a headline slot at London’s Bushstock, and appearances at Coachella. Between all of this, AURORA has managed to find the time to get back in the studio to put the finishing touches to a new collection of recordings.
