disco funk rock / jazz house

Brisbane 8-piece jazz/fusion outfit TYDE are celebrating the release & delivering the groove with their new flavourful disco-funk-rock single ‘Latte Partay’.

Based in Meanjin, this fem–led 8-piece band delivers a distinct sound that rejects conformity and isn't afraid to get goofy with it! With their big sound, it's no wonder they've played YONDER Festival, have two Byron Bay Bluesfest appearances under their belts, and have supported the likes of Harry James Angus, plus so much more.

Bringing that big festival stage energy with punchy horns, disco basslines, sunny vocals, and rockin' guitar + horn solos, TYDE will have you both grooving to infectious hooks and wondering what time signature you’re dancing to. Drawing comparisons to a The Cat Empire, Hiatus Kaiyote and Nubiyan Twist, they are one of Australia’s most exciting up-and-comers.

Moths To A Flame:
Forged from the stardust of the eternal night and birthed by Venus herself, Moths To A Flame is an exploration of jazz-house beats, improvised expression, and the sacred groove. Drawing inspirations from heavy cats like Yussef / Kamaal, Pharoah Sanders, KAYTRANADA, Azymuth, and Folamour, your band whips it all together with saxophone melodies, nu-synth, certified bad bassand killer percussion. Our collective prerogative is to get those booties shakin’, and heels on the dance floor.

Lux Trevis - Heavily influenced by the rhythms of his home country Brazil, the multi-instrumentalist layers dance grooves with the help of a loop pedal, vintage drum machines and analog synthesizers, followed by percussion and horn section. Influences from Samba, Afro-beat, House, Disco, Hip-hop, Electro and Jazz are present; merging electronic dance beats, percussive rhythms and live instrumentation to create a cosmic dance experience 🌌
