Born out of our love for kiwi music, Thursdays I'm In Love is The Tuning Fork's way of giving back to New Zealand's local music scene each month when we host three artists for you to discover and fall in love with.

Pick out one of your favourite craft beers and grab a burrito from our menu, and support the local artists performing. It’s time to take back Thursday, start your weekend at The Tuning Fork!

As if three excellent local acts aren’t enough, each month will feature a unique poster by a Kiwi graphic designer or artist.

June's poster is designed by LILY PARIS WEST

Thursdays I’m In Love sits alongside the comedy series Fork n Funny as The Tuning Fork’s monthly offerings.

Hailing from Auckland, Hans. is an exciting Korean artist that has been dubbed “One of the rising stars of New Zealand Hip Hop.” By Vice magazine as well as being lauded by beats 1 DJ Zane Lowe.

With his breakthrough single ‘Froyo’ featuring Clairo amassing over 7 million streams, his consistency in releases has allowed him to become a staple in NZ Hip Hop all the while supporting international acts such as Billie Eilish and Rejjie Snow and representing New Zealand at SXSW.

The release of his acclaimed Tango Hue EP in 2020 shows depth and maturity in an already diverse discography that will continue to grow.

Initially PollyHill started as a duo with producer Ollie when they both met while working at AS Colour. Since then Paloma has taken PollyHill solo, emerging as one of the hottest local acts in Auckland in 2019.

Making the rounds of the underground venues, PollyHill was gaining a loyal fan base and soon was catching the eye of the rest of New Zealand. Inspired by the likes of MF DOOM, PollyHill and her retail colleagues would be making weird and wacky beats while Polly pulled out the bars.

2020 saw PollyHill re-release her debut EP ‘Greatest Hits’ and two new singles ‘Spooky’ and ‘Mentor’, which both found huge success on student radio across the country.

Theia makes unapologetic experimental alt-pop, which pushes boundaries both sonically and lyrically.

The singer and songwriter from Aotearoa has been making waves since she first emerged in 2016 with her break-out hit ‘Roam’. Theia has gone on to amass millions of streams (18 million on Spotify alone) and a loyal fanbase across the globe, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Pigeons & Planes, Clash and Billboard Magazine, which recently described her as “one of the most exciting voices in pop to emerge from New Zealand in the last five years”.

The Christchurch-born artist has three EPs to her name, including 2020’s 99% ANGEL mixtape – a hard-hitting collection of songs, which takes a swing at the patriarchy and firms up Theia’s reputation for bulldozing social injustices.

Lily is a visual person with a penchant for illustration, play and loud music. When not designing merch or tour posters, Lily can be found shredding bass and writing with her band Mermaidens.
