Thursdays I’m In Love kicks off with LEAPING TIGER, LILLY CARRON, KMTP

The Tuning Fork announces Thursdays I’m In Love, a new monthly band night that will highlight up and coming, newly established or household names from Aotearoa. Each month we’ll host three bands for you to discover and fall in love with. It’s time we take back Thursday, start your weekend at The Tuning Fork!

Thursdays I’m In Love kicks off with LEAPING TIGER, LILLY CARRON, KMTP

Pick out one of your favourite craft beers, enjoy our Thursdays' drinks specials, grab a burrito and support the local up and coming artists performing. Every month you’ll be given the opportunity to see some of the most exciting names of the next few years.

Thursdays I’m In Love will sit alongside the comedy series Fork ‘N Funny as The Tuning Fork’s monthly offerings. As if three excellent local acts aren’t enough, each month will feature a unique poster by a Kiwi graphic designer or artist.

April’s poster is designed by LEX FLEMING

The Tuning Fork will be paying careful attention to public health and safety advice on social gatherings and will be working to create a safe and comfortable environment for all attendees. Any restrictions on gathering sizes will be adhered to carefully.

Auckland bass player and electronic maestro Leaping Tiger joins the lineup. His debut album Porcelain Orca Whales was met with rave reviews at the beginning of 2020, with a stellar cast of guest musicians littered throughout.

Before starting their own solo projects b-lush and K M T P, Keria Paterson played with Auckland indie faves Polyester, with appearances at Laneway Festival and The Others Way Festival both highlights of their music career to date.

Keria Paterson didn’t discover music at a particular point in their life, it was always there, whether it was attending Flying Nun gigs with family as a kid and starting to sing and play guitar and piano at an early age. At high school, they connected with other passionate musicians and added bass and keyboards/synths to their repertoire, as well as beginning to experiment with recording and live music production.

After releasing several tracks as B-Lush, Paterson wrote ‘I Love My Friends’ in mid-2019 while procrastinating from uni work. They released the track and immediately was playlisted across the Student Radio Network.

Lilly Carron describes herself as lo-fi dream pop. An EP under her belt already, Messy Mind, released in December last year, she is making waves with her blissful beats, already having appeared at her first festival, Nest Fest.
