Gather your people and treat yourself to an intimate night out with good vibes and some of Australia’s best queer female performers.

THE SAPPHO SHOW launched in December 2019 to a super appreciative audience and rave reviews, so FEM & The She Collective are thrilled to announce THE SAPPHO SHOW will become a monthly event, picking up in 2020 on Thursday 26 March.

Join us for this intimate night out for queer women, ENBY’s and allies, featuring some of Australia’s best queer female performers.

Why The Sappho Show? We’ll, Sappho is a little like us.  A poet at heart, a lover of women and much of her work is lost or unknown. Sure, she was around in 500 BCE on the Isle of Lesbos, but we don’t think that much has changed.  We still need a safe island (or, in this case a night-time music venue) to meet up and the fact is queer female performers are still massively underrepresented.

So gather your pals and join us at the Vanguard in Newtown for this intimate monthly event.  Arrive early and enjoy dinner, drinks and premium seating or just join for drinks and the show.  The venue is accessible for everyone and, if the crowd becomes overwhelming you can take time out in our quiet zone.

FEM and The She Collective are committed to supporting queer women’s voices creatively and financially.

We acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the land on which we create and pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.  Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.

March Performers to be announced soon!
