Award-nominated saxophonist and composer Thabani Gapara brings his electric live show Dzindza to Wellington for one night only at San Fran.

Recently nominated for Best Jazz Album at the 2025 Aotearoa Music Awards, Dzindza is Thabani’s tribute to his Southern African roots. It’s where Afrobeat, Highlife, Mbaqanga, and Mbira meet the soul of the African diaspora—funk, Zouk, and beyond. Backed by a high-energy band, Thabani delivers a performance that’s bold, heartfelt, and impossible to sit still through.

This five-city tour is a celebration of heritage, groove, and connection. Led by the unmistakable voice of Thabani’s saxophone and storytelling.

San Fran holds a Supervised License. Minors are welcome to attend events at San Fran so long as they are accompanied by a legal guardian at all times whilst at the venue.
