Duke of George presents
Tales from the Orient presented by Michael Pignéguy &
Mark Cain with The Awakenings Ensemble
Following their recent sold-out show, Michael and Mark are re-uniting to bring their World Music spectacle back to the Duke of George. The aim of this musical partnership is to take audience members on a journey around the Orient featuring musical influences from Turkey to Persia.
Original and traditional works will be presented alongside re-interpretations of music from other cultures allowing new musical conversations to take place. Michael (drums & percussion) and Mark (multi-reeds) will be joined by Esfandiar Shahmir (persian ney & vocals), Michael Edelby (Oud), Jeremy Greig (trombone), Peter Jeavons (bass) and Harry Mitchell (keyboards).
Don’t miss this remarkable, musical collaboration!
