Celebrate the wonderful tradition ofMatariki with us at a free community hāngī and celebration, hosted by Taieri Network and Te Whare Tapa Whā ō Taieri.

Bringing the community together to honour the principles of Matariki—reflection, renewal, and community connection—through shared kai, storytelling, kōrero, and fun, whānau-friendly activities. 

Enjoy engaging games, youth-focused fun, and beautiful waiata that everyone is welcome to join in. It’s a time to reflect on the year gone by, celebrate the present, and set hopeful intentions for the year ahead, grounded in mātauranga Māori knowledge and whanaungatanga (relationships and connection).
