Event Details

On his self-titled debut EP, Jakob Degado boldly announces his ambition. A conceptual body of work that marks the stages of a relationship that ultimately comes to an end, the five tracks traverse through diverse styles and influences as Jakob shape-shifts from rhythmically driven Latin flare and smooth grooves to soaring pop that unexpectedly takes its cues from punk.

Driven by the goal of pioneering a new wave of artist, Jakob is inspired by emerging breakthrough acts Yungblud and Ruel as well as groundbreaking idols Frank Ocean, Post Malone and The Weeknd. To chase his dreams, Jakob went to the US to spend time with notable collaborators including Troy Noka (Frank Ocean, Miguel), Melanie Fontana (Justin Bieber, BTS, Chainsmokers) Michel Lindgren Schulz (Cheat Codes) and Chris ‘N’ Teeb (50 Cent). During these sessions Jakob found his sound, and himself.

Jakob recently made his debut live performance as a solo artist at Music Matters in Singapore. He was the youngest performer to showcase at the conference alongside 14 of the world’s best emerging artists.

Jakob will perform solo on home soil for the first time on Thursday November 14 at the Vanguard in Newtown, Sydney.
