We invite you to take a journey with us, one that begins with a little girl who spent her summer nights on a blanket under the stars….

Koort (heart) is the second instalment from award wining duo Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse, the latest work of their four-part Kalyakoorl (Forever) song cycle. 

Koort continues to work off the premise that “it takes a village to raise a child.” Only this time it’s personal; following Gina’s own journey. As a product of the Stolen Generations, Gina was raised by five families (through adoption and foster care). Thanks to the village, she grew up to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma and become a champion in our community.

This is a story of deep sadness and great joy, because we all understand what those things mean, in anyones language, because we all know what it is to have ‘Koort’

Again Gina & Guy are joined on stage by Russell Holmes with special guests on backing vocals by Gina’s daughters, Lauren & Bella.
