DUE TO LOCKDOWNS THE SEPTEMBER EDITION OF BETTER OFF SAID MOVED TO DECEMBER 5TH, HOWEVER DUE TO CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS, THIS EVENT WILL NOW BE HELD ON MARCH 6TH.

A note from the organisers:

Dearest friends. Well! It's been a time. And along with our beautiful, bruised, resilient Arts community we have been reflecting on how to possibly move forward and present events in a way that is safe for us, our performers, and our audiences.

After consulting with our FRANKLY HEROIC and DEEPLY PATIENT readers for our November 7th and December 5th shows, we have collectively decided to reschedule these events to 2022 - where we hope we can gather together in a greater space of exhalation and certainty.

With that in mind, please note - all tickets for our NOVEMBER 7th 2021 event will now transfer to FEBRUARY 6th 2022.

All tickets to our DECEMBER 5th 2021 event will transfer to MARCH 6th 2022.

We completely understand if you need to ask for a refund - we'll catch you another time. Otherwise, all tickets purchased thus far will move automatically to these new dates.

Obviously our incredible readers are emerging from their own respective cocoons, and despite all of our best efforts there may be slight changes to the lineups. Know that we will always endeavour to bring you a collection of open, generous hearts on our stage.

This year has been a brutal one for an Arts community already injured by the lockdowns and unknowns of 2020. So many Festivals, theatre shows, gigs and moments of shared joy have been unable to find their light. We are grateful to our dear friends at the Brunswick Ballroom, who have been formidable through it all. We're grateful for our readers, who have weathered numerous 'CHANGING THE DATE AGAIN LOL' emails, and taken it all in stoic good humour. And we're grateful to you, our community, who have been with us through it all.

We can't wait to see you in 2022. We will drink ALL of the champagne together. Until then, please be safe.

with love

Emilie and Marieke. x

From members of the team behind international literary phenomenon Women of Letters comes a new spoken-word art salon celebrating words, stories, and human experiences.

Better Off Said: Eulogies for the Living and Dead is afternoon of words it’s time to air.  Is there something you always wish you’d shouted aloud, someone still out there in the world waiting to hear an important message, a piece of history you feel your voice could have improved?  Now is the opportunity to leave no verbal stone unturned.  To find your closure.  To sing your truth from the rooftops before it’s too late.

On SEPTEMBER 5th, four guests will speak to the phrase ’The Words I Wish I’d Said' and a special guest will deliver a Living Eulogy, to someone or some thing, to celebrate the best in our lives while we're all still hear to hear it. There'll also be a musical performance to help make each salon special.

Presented by Emilie Zoey Baker and Marieke Hardy.
