Join us in this exciting concert celebrating Auckland Youth Orchestra’s 75th anniversary!

Mendelssohn: Verleih uns Frieden (Grant us Thy Peace) conducted by Michael McLellan, performed by the Auckland Youth Choir, directed by David Squire. The work is a graceful and romantic prayer for peace.

Guilmant: Symphony No. 1 for Organ & Orchestra Soloist: Nicholas Forbes.
This flamboyant symphony is Guilmant’s most popular work!

Beethoven: Symphony No.9 with Auckland Youth Choir, directed by David Squire, and well-known soloists Morag Atchison, Catrin Johnsson, Jack Bourke and James Harrison.

A performance of this symphony can never be an ordinary event – and it includes the famous “Ode to Joy”.

MUSIC DIRECTOR, AYO   - Antun Poljanich

MUSIC DIRECTOR, AYC -   David Squire

Auckland Youth Orchestra (est. 1948)

AYO is a full symphony orchestra comprised of 75 of Auckland's most talented young musicians (ages 14-26).   For 75 years it has been training such musicians in the skills of orchestral playing, bridging the gap between high school orchestras and adult professional orchestras.
